My Bio

Born 1969 (the morning after the Manson Tate murder). Helter Skelter everyone! Educated through grade 12 in Christian Schools, Met woman I would marry my first year in college. Married same woman (a woman 2 1/2 years my elder) three years later. Dropped out of school at first child, and finished college 3 years later. Since then, have established a career, if one could call it that, as an allied staff in healthcare. Together with my wife and (now ten!) children, we live modestly but joyfully in Western Wisconsin. Since I picked up the Lord of the Rings at age 11, I have been a devotee to the works of J.R.R. Tolkien. I regard him easily as the best author of this last century. His works regarding Middle Earth are epic romance and have been the source of inspiration for me, having moved me greatly each time I read them. Having more recently become enamoured of anime, I found Rumiko Takahashi's Ranma 1/2 series to be highly entertaining. Having read about Maison Ikkoku, I thought it would be something I would greatly be interested in. After buying the initial releases of the anime, I had to have the manga. I have recently finished Maison Ikkoku Manga and find it a romantic masterpiece filled with pain, joy, trial and perseverance - and quite a bit of hilarity (it IS a comedy, after all). It moved me greatly, as much, I would say, as the Lord of the Rings. Although a far different type of romance, I had to say it was in the same league as the Lord of the Rings. So am in process, although existentially, of raising a family of Otaku. :)
